Step Into Joy: So What's This All About? Start here...

Join me for a series of six online workshops to claim your own walking practice for connection, discovery, resilience, and play!

“Walking brings me back to myself.” – Laurette Mortimer

Since COVID struck, walking has been incredibly important, especially to get off of our digital screens and out of our zoom boxes. We need to feel our body not mediated through technology, reminding ourselves where we are, the bodies we're in, and the moment we have right now.

We all know that walking is good for your health, but why is it a vital tool for finding ourselves and connection? Can we feel less alone, even as we walk a path on our own?

Definitely!

In this series, I'll introduce you to fun, creative prompts, using your "superhero five senses" to experience walking as your go-to guide and never-ending source of joy, play, resilience, and discovery. You'll experience the world like you never had before and find that the biggest gifts are right under our noses - and feet.

Join the Facebook Group, or check out the weekly activities I’ll be posting on the Walk2Discover site. You’ll also have the option of participating in group zoom workshops where we’ll be sharing, exploring and map-making.

How can we be compassionate towards ourselves and each other without feeling a genuine love for the earth we're living in?

How can childlike awe and imagination ground you in the most mature and enlightened values?

How can you always feel like you belong, no matter what's going on in your life?

Everyone walks a different path, and we all walk fir different reasons. No two steps are alike, and by the end of this series, you'll claim a walking practice that's uniquely YOU, and have a tool that you can continually grow with for the rest of your time on earth!

So why not start now?

 So how can you participate?

For six weeks, I will be posting a weekly prompt with an inspirational exercise, resource and activity to help YOU claim your OWN walking practice. There will be videos, recordings, readings, photographs, exercises, questions to guide you, meditations, visualizations, fun improvisations, movement practices, and steps to take! You'll be able to share your responses the Facebook Group, or the Walk2Discover site. You’ll also have the option of participating in group zoom workshops where we’ll be sharing, exploring and map-making. which will also feature the prompts.

Optionally you are invited to participate in a weekly interactive zoom call, where we will be doing group and partner exercises, discussions, and sharings!

If you would rather not share, you are welcome to explore the prompts on your own, and just tune in for the videos I'll be posting here giving you a recap!

Now is the time to tune into the tiniest moments we might overlook, the hidden life all around us, and orient ourselves in our natural environments, while also being able to notice how we are in our bodies. This time of pause, walking is a vital tool to connect to our immediate environment when our lives became constricted.

“Not all those who wander are lost.” – J.R.R Tolkien

Invite your friends to join in this challenge and let's find comfort in solitude, nature, ourselves, and solidarity in our many diverse communities.

Get ready to claim your own walking practice not as a means to get from Point A to Point B,  but as an exciting journey of surprise, self-expression, and connection!

The first prompt will be posted on Friday August 14th, and six zoom meetings will be held on Sundays at 4pm EST, starting August 23rd!
